Pushing Through The Pandemic: Announcing our Sydney 2020 Pre-Accelerator Cohort
The pandemic has turned everyone’s life and livelihood upside down, Catalysr is no exception. Fortunately, we were able to adapt our 2020 plans and execute accordingly with relative speed. I’m happy to announce here that, in spite of it all, we’ve pushed through and launched our new and improved program delivery format. With our Sydney 2020 Pre-Accelerator cohort now on their feet, we’re calling on our awesome network of mentors to get involved.
For various reasons, we made the (pre-pandemic) decision to move towards a blended delivery model, where our masterclass content would be delivered online asynchronously and our weekly Community Sessions would remain face-to-face. As the threat of COVID-19 became a clearer reality in Australia, we chose to view the restrictions as an opportunity to test various hypotheses; Would a 100% online Pre-Accelerator program attract high-performing aspiring Migrapreneurs? If so, would we be able to deliver a program remotely that met or exceeded our standards?
We shook off our analysis paralysis and pushed forward with recruitment. In just three weeks we received over 130 applications from applicants from all over the world looking to solve a breadth of interesting problems. We’ve taken in a cohort of 70 Migrapreneurs from 36 different countries, looking to solve problems ranging from architectural integrity of structures all the way to travel for autistic & differently abled youth. Four weeks in to our first 100% virtual program, we’ve received great feedback and response from the cohort and our partners. Now that our Migrapreneurs are in the swing of things, we’re ready to bring our fantastic mentors into the fold.
