Dillinger, Dahmer, and 7/22

Today, but not today

It’s Friday. Let’s look at a couple of “historical figures” and their connection to this date.

John Dillinger was one of the most notorious bank robbers in American history. His Dillinger gang went on a spree that would’ve made Jesse James blush, but before that, John enlisted in the Navy on July 22, 1923. He obviously didn’t last long, and the AWOL turned into another tumble down a life of crime. That life came to an end on July 22, 1933 when Dillinger was shot in the back leaving a Chicago movie theater.

Weirdo two for July 22 is Jeffrey Dahmer. The “Milwaukee-cannibal-murder” died in November 1994 when a fellow inmate beat Dahmer to death while Jeffrey was serving his 16 life sentences for multiple murders. However, the beginning of his end came on July 22, 1991 when Dahmer was arrested finally ending his 13 year run of horror.

Have a great weekend.
