COMPETITION-CATHARSIS CHRONICLES
A Solo Squid Game
Whenever we lie, we lie to ourselves. And even if it seems like we win, deep inside we feel that the prize is poor
No one knew she was a liar,
but her self did.
That’s the thing with truth’s pair;
it’s a solo …game of the squid.
Many sides of her were killed
on the way to the big prize.
“Names” she thought she wasn’t;
corpses of potential “I-s”.
Pretending is a tiring work,
but flawless image is admired.
The never-ending agony
appears to be required.
She was a strong, inventive player;
methodical and focused.
Level after level,
she left everyone hocused.
She won the game fair and square.
Self-fabrication is a talent.
Somehow the victory felt poor though;
the prize was insufficient.
