As I continued to explore her work, my admiration for the vibrant and spirited individual behind the words grew. Let's celebrate her fervor, zest for life, and remarkable talent!
Chrysa: First of all, Welcome my dear Marie! Before the more special questions, can you tell us about your personal life?
Marie: I’m a mother of three, but only two of them came from my body. I’m a grandmother of two wonderful boys — 14 and 10 years old. I’m a wife, not for the first time. This is my third marriage, but the one that will last forever, if I have something to say about it. I’m a daughter, but I don’t have parents anymore.
I was born in South Africa, grew up there, and lived in the country until December 1994, before I immigrated to the Netherlands with my children.
Chrysa: What about your childhood? Did you have a good one?
