“What’s all that commotion outside?” Jocelyn Mills called out as she was about to exit the office, where more than twenty employees sat behind computers doing their work.
Suddenly, Melodie Sanchez’s phone rang. She ignored it as her boss stared at her. Then she demands, “Answer the darn phone!”
“Are you sure?” Melodie teased, then grabbed it when Jocelyn gave her a weird look.
She put her phone on speaker, and a familiar voice frantically screams, “Mel, get down here now! A wrecker is towing away your car!” Annisa, one of her coworkers and best friend, shouts.
A voice in the background cried out, “Mel, it’s me, Benjamin. I am here to pick your car up and take it to Ian to fix your brakes!” her cousin Benjamin called out angrily.
“Let him do his job, Annisa. My car needs new brakes. He is my cousin and works for Ian,” Melodie explained.
“Ok,” Annisa relents. Minutes later, she returns to the office and tells Melodie, “I will return at 7:00 PM to take you home. I also ask my husband to pick up your kids after school and take them to their grandmother.”
