Her Amazing Day
Hard to believe this is how she gets to live now
She races the wind up behind the ridge line,
Armoured against the bitter cold of the gale,
The breeze keeps her company, whispers its secrets in her ears,
But her desire to win was a complete fail,
Although she laughs hard at the effort.
She looks up into the crystal blue sky at the flap of a pair of wings,
There she spies a large hawk wind surfing the breeze,
With a gust it’s lifted higher,
Then dips as it lets its wings freeze,
Sailing above the tree tops.
She cocks her head at a piercing whistle,
And giggles as the whole chorus line joins in tune,
They speak their own language, for sure,
But the bells and whistles cause her heart to swoon,
As she glides along the trails to the beat.
She heads back to the water’s edge,
And looks around in awe,
The sun glistens across the top of the water,
As the ducks and water birds prance along the shore,
She can’t help but smile at their antics.
