In Times of Worry
Hope and Comfort for Uncertain Days.
Hey, you who find yourself here,
As the time for which you have waited is near,
Don’t you worry.
As you fear what’s next to bear,
As you run out of people to cheer,
As you yourself are the only peer,
Don’t you worry.
As there’s no one with whom you could share,
You can always come and find me here.
Don’t you worry.
As everything will be fine,
There will be a time for you to shine.
Don’t you worry.
As you look around to find me,
Know that a part of me lives here.
Don’t you worry.
This poem is a special message of hope and reassurance for all those who are concerned about the uncertainty of the future, and whose minds have been overtaken by these thoughts. I wrote it during my senior year when I was about to graduate. It was a time of mixed feelings — ecstasy because 16 years of hard work and resilience were about to pay off, but also despair due to the uncertainty of the future. So, while I wrote it for myself, it also serves as a message of reassurance for others amidst chaos and misery.
