THIS COLLABORATION IS NOW CLOSED

Following seven successful collaborations, here is the eighth experiment. Don’t be shy — if you love to write poetry, please contribute, even if your name is not on the call list. It is a great way to connect with other poets and testify to the creativity of group thinking. While this will appear random, I do not believe in randomness as being accidental. This poem will unfold as it is supposed to unfold by poets meant to come together.

This month’s poem, after the constraints of syllabic counts in last month’s, will be centered around FREEDOM, in whatever form that may be.

Here in America, we have the 4th of July celebrating the country's independence from Britain, much to the devastation of Indigenous people westward who watched the treaties with the Brits be torn up and the westward march of progress (invasion) began.

Freedom can mean many things to people-whether conditional, bodily, emotional, mental, or spiritual. I suspect we will see all of that here.
