I recently lost my internet connection and that meant that I could not publish any of my work from home. I prefer writing and publishing from home as I find it a lot more convenient. This led me to think about the importance of connections in life.

We lose connections with people when we move away from a common place where we worked, lived or interacted with them regularly. We lose connections with loved ones who have passed away. I have lost my connection with my parents who passed away. However, I do know that they are on the other side and we will meet again.

When we lose a connection we feel lost, alone and helpless. This is to time for us to think about developing new connections, to keep us focussed and grounded. Without the internet it is also impossible to watch my favourite streaming shows on television. This has made me go back to watch movies and series on my DVD player. The entertainment is awesome. There is however, a little bit of extra work, that I need to do, which means to switch on my DVD player and place the disc into the tray. With a streaming service, I can watch innumerable shows, simply by pressing a few buttons.
