Why, Wicked Tear?

Empty soul

Bitter-tasting tear,
Have you crossed the border again?
Do you think you’re fond of my face once more?
Do you delight that I’m struggling?

Why, wicked tear,
Do you flow even when I’m not at fault?
Or are you a sister to the sigh…
Do you urge each other on?

May the fire in the hearth burn you both,
For I cannot get rid of you at once.
You lie in wait day and night,
I hear you whispering.

You’re ready to attack,
I don’t want you
You poison my entire being,
Damn, this wretched fate.

I beg you, Lord, if you could,
Take this tear from my eyes,
And this endless sigh from my chest,
For I can no longer bear them!
