Catharsis is not just a term, it is an experience of expressing strong, overwhelming, pent-up emotions. An act of catharsis is an act of healing. And what’s a better tool for that than writing your heart out?

Catharsis is not a publication, it is a community, a family of all the thinkers, writers, wonderers, wanderers, and ponderers out there. If your heart wants a place to stay, you are most welcome to join us right away!

What can you submit?

Stories (fiction/non-fiction), poems, essays — we welcome all forms of writing as long as they reach straight to people’s hearts.

We publish stories about love, personal experiences, life, spirituality, or almost any topic under the sun but we just want it to be as personal and positive as possible — Stories that inspire, transform, heal, and touch every cell of the body.

Some general guidelines

Please go through the following guidelines before submitting your beautiful stories.

1. Edit and proofread your stories before sending your draft: Your stories should not have grammatical or spelling errors. You can use Grammarly before hitting Submit.
2. No hate, please: Remember never to use abusive or inappropriate language in your story. Let’s spread positivity, love, and joy everywhere we go. You know the world needs it always. :)
3. Your story has a proper format: Title case for the heading and sentence case for the sub-heading is preferred.
4. Use beautiful pictures to adorn your story: Now that Unsplash is integrated into Medium, it has become really easy! If you are using any other source, do not forget to give credit to the artists.
5. Use appropriate tags: Let your story be where it belongs. You can use 5 tags per story.
6. Submit only unpublished stories (in draft form).

How to submit?

If you are already a writer with Catharsis, you know the drill — After thoroughly reviewing your draft, click on the three dots beside the Publish icon in the right hand corner of your Draft page. Select Catharsis and send.

Also, please note: If your story is in alignment with the guidelines, it will be published within 48 hours without fail.

If you are not a writer with us yet, you can either reply to this story/leave a comment and we’ll add you as a writer or you can send an email at contactnavyagupta@gmail.com with your Medium profile link.
