My Celestial Delight

The infinite night-blue sky
waits for me to stare at it
lying down on my
soft velvet mat

the sprawling stars
summon me to gaze at them
and honour their
magnificence in awe

the moon overhead
invites me to let me
bathe in its scintillating light
till it sinks into the horizon

but I do not want to
partake in this
heavenly gig tonight
for I have found my
own celestial delight

his eyes are like
the sky —
infinite and makes
me want to fly

flickering stars
reside on his lips
they dance in harmony
as he speaks

his smile is like
a crescent moon —
as it touches his dimples
it illuminates the
darkest part of my soul

so why do I need
to go out to look for
the stars, the sky, or the moon
when tonight, I see the
whole galaxy inside him,
dancing to his tune.

This poem is in response to the tag word ‘celestial’ given to me by Arundhati. Thank you for tagging me in your ‘enchanting’ poem —
