Once in a Red Moon

A poem.

Once every red moon
He comes out of hiding
He feeds on the dreams
Of the children he’s misguiding

He lives by blood and terror
He sucks out all the hope
Until there’s no life
No more dream to cope

He’s called a monster by those who’ve seen him
But it happens every day with a monster or not
Necessity calls to give up our dreams
For a practical life we never sought
