Jobe Syndrome and Scientific Evidence for the Existence of God and Evil
The teen cried, “Where was God when I was raped? Why didn’t God do something?” Eugene Hausmann believes: “God was crying.”
If God doesn’t exist, then everything is permitted
In Jobe Syndrome, Hausmann, a Catholic Deacon and science instructor providing spiritual care for abused children at Holy Cross Children’s Services in Michigan, makes a case for an Intelligent Designer of the Universe.
His case for God’s Plan cites Stephen Hawking’s quest for a Grand Design combining Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity and quantum mechanics.
Science is increasingly presenting compelling arguments for God, Hausmann shows. For example, in 1966, Carl Sagan announced there were only two criteria for a planet to support life, and thus, he argued there were trillions of planets capable of supporting life.
But as our scientific knowledge increased, Sagan grew his list from two criteria to 50. Today, science has expanded the list to 200 conditions required for a planet to support life: “every single one of which must be perfectly met, or the whole thing falls apart.” If one tiny thing is slightly off? Lifelessness.
