As Catholic parents, we desire our children to grow up with a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ. From the moment they’re born, we pray for them to be close to God. We want them to follow the teachings of Christ throughout their lives. But how do we make this connection real for young children? One way is by filling our homes with images of Jesus. Images of Jesus are visual reminders that help our children see and feel His presence every day.

Humble Like a Child by Leslie Pardew

In the Catholic faith, sacred images have long played an important role in building faith. They focus our hearts and minds on Christ. They are a visual representation of our faith and help us remember Christ’s love and sacrifice. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us that sacred art is meant to “turn men’s minds devoutly toward God” (CCC 2502). Images in our homes can be powerful tools for helping our children. They help form a personal connection to Jesus at a young age.
