Welcome to New Writers

Lately, we have been getting a lot of requests from people wanting to join the Catness team of writers, and that’s really nice. We love getting new writers and hearing about their special kitties. We love to see photos of their fur-kids. Keep it coming, people!

Editors’ Choice

This is a new heading you will see at the top of the publication. It is going to be used for us (your intrepid editors) to feature stories and images that we particularly like.

Last Fall, one of our writers Alan Asnen, suggested that we should have a Photo of the Month feature. We liked the idea. so Editors Choice basically comes from that suggestion.

Requirement for Source Links

We are doubling down on our requirement for properly linked sources for statements of facts writers make in their articles, particularly on medical and nutritional matters.

Anyone can claim to be an “expert” based on being a pet owner for a long period of time. However, if you are making statements of fact about types of food for your pets, or how to care for your pet, how to train your pet, or specific breed personality traits, then we need you to provide a linked source to where you got that information. Mentioning that you found it on Google or discussed it with another pet owner is not going to fly with us.

Going into 2022

We are looking forward to welcoming more new writers and seeing lots more contributions from all of you.

Namaste!
