Some Fave Cat Shots

Taffy, a sweet moment

These are shots I particularly love of cats that we currently have and cats we have had in the past. They are nowhere near as good as shots taken by my photog hubby, but they are shots that I took and which capture a cat moment.

We currently have 3 cats. All rescues. Each with their own personality.

Taffy, Gandalf the Grey and Mo.

Of the current group, Taffy came first. She was being bullied by an aggressive new-comer cat and her family decided to get rid of her.

She was not impressed by our household of a dog. We had just lost a cat, Jezabel, and so there were no other felines. Taffy bolted to the basement and remained there for a month.

When she finally came up from the basement, we adopted another cat in need, Dilly. Taffy became friends with Dilly. Eventually …

Dilly was a character. He had this scruffy old mousey toy, which he would tote around in his mouth, meowing at the same time. He would bring the toy close to us, then pitch it down the stairs, hoping we would retrieve it and toss it up for him.

When Dilly crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Taffy began to grieve, so we chose to adopt another cat.

Gandalf the Grey was the next adoptee. His caregiver was a very old person who had been placed in a home. The family apparently could not or would not care for Gandalf and he ended up at the City pound.

When I went to check out cats, Gandalf immediately came to the front of the cage and made nice with me.

Unlike many cats, Gandalf made himself at home very quickly. You know how you are supposed to keep them segregated for the first few days? Well Gandalf wasn’t putting up with that. He made friends with Tessa the dog right away, then attempted Taffy.

Taffy hissed and bopped him. He just shrugged cat shoulders and went to look for greener pastures or friendlier cats.

Gandalfs’ persistently friendly overtures finally won Taffy over, and they became good friends.
