The eyes of Juno in Haiku

Slivers in the sun.
Juno’s pupils piercing me
with an eerie stare.

Twitchy eyes darting
to follow my laser’s trail.
And then — vanishes.

Dilated blackness.
Orbs unblinking at midnight
wait for us to sleep,

then passing headlights:
eyes reflect bright as the sun
back in darkness — run!

In time, night prevails.
Her eyelids quiver, then close.
Sleep; purr-chance to dream.
