In our human world, we have seen a lot of people that are born differently, like conjoined twins and people born with different disabilities. Disabilities are not something that happens just to humans, but also to animals. In most cases, it is caused by a genetic mutation passed from parent to offspring.

Midas is a cat born with normal ears plus an additional two ears that make her look prettier and cuter. Her owner adopted her at first sight and believes she is a special, one-of-a-kind cat. Midas captivates the internet world and currently has over a hundred thousand followers on her Instagram page at the time of writing this article. Midas’s beautiful extra ears are caused by a genetic mutation and, interestingly, don’t affect her hearing. Her story and looks moved the internet, and over a million people have watched her story shared by the South China Morning Post on YouTube.

Over the past years, cats have displayed a lot of amazing tales that make them adorable pets, which is why I have come to the conclusion that the ancient Egyptian ancestors adored and worshipped them. Let’s take a beautiful look at some of those amazing cat stories and tales.

Masha Cat: The Heroic Cat that Saved an Abandoned Baby

In Russia, a cat named Masha rescued an abandoned cat that would have frozen to death. Masha is a hairy cat who saw a baby left in the cold inside a box and decided to join the baby in the box to keep the baby warm and prevent her from freezing. Masha calls people’s attention by giving some meow sounds, and immediately the child was rescued and taken to the hospital. A mother abandoned a baby but was saved by another passionate mother, and oh my God, a cat.

Tama Cat: The Railway Cat with a Gold Medal

When it comes to being an employee, it happens that it is not something that just happens to humans, but also to no other animal other than a cat. Tama is a cat that saved a railway station from being bankrupt. Her job was to greet every passerby at the station and she was paid in cat food instead of money. She was given a gold medal tag with her name and position held written on it.

Willard Cat: a co-founder and author of a book.

While most people find it impossible to write a book, a feline can actually make that dream a reality. Willard is a cat owned by a physicist who has submitted his book about science for publication, not realizing he has used the second person plural “we” instead of “I” throughout his book. The book was rejected, and he was told to either retype it or find a co-author. Immediately, he thought of no one else other than his feline friend. He attached some family names to his cat and made it look more official by addressing it as F. D. C. Willard.

The Cat Island in Japan.

Nowhere more interesting than an island having more cats than humans is nowhere across the globe but Japan. We have seen a lot of amazing things in Japan, like a cat cafe and, more interestingly, an area filled with more cats than humans. These cats are fed by donations from Japanese across the country, as well as tourists or visitors. The cat was initially introduced to help eliminate rodents, but instead took over the place and dominated the area.

Koko, the gorilla, and her kitten.

The story never gets more interesting than a gorilla named Koko, who can speak just like a human but not more than a child. The gorilla is very intelligent and can understand the English language just like humans do. On her birthday, Koko requested a pet, a cat to be precise. The zoologist tried to make her a lookalike kitten, but Koko wasn’t satisfied until she was allowed to choose a kitten from a family of abandoned kittens. Koko chose a Manx cat and took care of the kitten like a baby. The cat later escaped from the cage and was killed by a car. Koko was sad, angry and cried every day of her life, just like humans, until she was allowed to choose another pick, and again she picked a Manx kitten.

Oscar the Cat: The cat who can predict a dying person’s death.

Oscar is a cat that lives in a nursing home in the United States. She has the ability to predict when a person is dying. She does this by sleeping and taking a nap close to them a few moments before they die. The cat can sense the dying cells of a patient and wants to give them some comfort before they pass away. Staff in the nursing home got used to Oscar after he predicted the death of 25 patients. They would call the patient’s family immediately upon noticing the arrival of Oscar sitting next to them, a moment before the patient dearly passed away.

Jack Wright won the title of the most cats kept by a single person.

This is crazy. I won’t lie to you. A man known as Jack Wright has the title of the most owned cat owner. How many cats do you think this dude owns? Your guess would be around 50 or maybe 100, but this guy owned 689 cats. Oh my goodness! That’s an amazing world titleholder.

Cats are truly amazing creatures. They are the most popular owned pet in the United States compared to their rival pet (the dog). According to research, a cat has a lot of health benefits in relation to its owner, helping them to lower the risk of vital organ diseases in the body. A good reason why being a pet parent is worth being proud of.
