A Cat’s Guide to The Zoomies
If you keep a cat or two, you are most likely familiar with zoomies. For those of you who don’t keep cats, the zoomie represents a sudden burst of energy by a feline friend. This burst of energy often occurs unexpectedly and either late at night or in the wee early morning hours.
In many cases, one cat with the zoomies leads to two cats with the zoomies. They chase each other over furniture, down hallways, and around their human companions.
The zoomie offers the indoor-only cat some exercise as well as keeping their hunting skills sharp even if the prey is their littermate.
Are there rules of engagement for zoomies? Of course there are.
The Onset:
If you know the signs, you can tell when a zoomie is coming on.
Maybe it’s a twitch of their tail or a tingle in the whiskers. Sometimes, it’s a butt wiggle that propels your female friend down the hall. Sometimes, there are no signs at all. The cat just runs out of the room or tears off down the hall.
The Instigator:
