1. Leap and the net will appear.

Scout is never afraid to try new things. She’s constantly stretching the boundaries of what she’s capable of. Although she is blind and has every reason to cower in a corner or hang out on the couch, Scout constantly explores the world around her.

Just the other day, she scaled the high-back chair in my office. She’s scaled other chairs, but nothing as high as this chair. Her cat sisters do it almost every day. Harper loves to sit up there and watch me work. Hermione will scale the back and hop in my lap for snuggles.

When Scout did it in the same manner as her cat sisters, I naturally thought she must have watched them. Then, of course, I realized that wasn’t possible. She figured it out on her own. She’s never afraid of trying new things.

Just think what we could accomplish if we took a risk and tried new things.

2. Greet each new day with a smile.

When I wake up in the morning and walk into the living room, I look at the couch and see Scout sitting there. She always looks like she’s smiling back at me.
