Catoshi can now bridge the Cronos blockchain
Cronos is another chain to be added to the growing list of chains that Catoshi can bridge, whether using The Crossing dapp or the White Label and Zero Label services.
Crypto.com is increasingly becoming one of the most recognisable crypto currency related companies moving into the mainstream. It is home to a wealth of crypto currency products with most users knowing it for its’ exchange, wallet and crypto currency-backed credit card services. It is at the forefront of making the leap to public awareness via significant sports sponsorship deals. So it is with pride that while Crypto.com is bridging from the niche of crypto to universal public awareness, Catoshi is one of the first projects enabling bridging to and from Cronos, the parallel chain to Crypto.com’s own blockchain. Indeed, Cronos’s base settlement currency is CRO, the native token of the Crypto.org Chain.
Cronos
Crypto.com university describes Cronos as;
the first blockchain network that interoperates with both the Ethereum and Cosmos ecosystems, supporting DeFi, NFTs, and the metaverse. It aims to massively scale the Web3 user community by providing builders with the ability to instantly port apps and crypto assets from other chains with low cost, high throughput, and fast finality.
Compared to the Crypto.org Chain, Cronos is EVM compatible and supports solidity smart contract execution. The Crypto.org Chain will be implementing CosmWasm smart contract execution in the future, targeting Go and Rust developers. Cronos is more targeted toward developers who have prior experience in building on Ethereum or other EVM chains, and want to build DApps on Cronos using Solidity.
Cronos is looking to solve significant issues associated with Ethereum and EVM chains. As Cronos becomes more popular with developers due to the benefits the chain provides more projects will use the chain. It is early in adoption but gaining in use and popularity. It is therefore the perfect time for Catoshi to be enabling tokens to be bridged to and from the chain.
Catoshi has been asked by a project to build our first bridge to Cronos and work has already begun. A formal announcement regarding this partnership will be made soon.
Bridges aplenty
By the end of 2021 Catoshi could bridge to and from Ethereum (ETH), BNB chain previously known as Binance Smart Chain (BNB) and Fantom (FTM). Yet work never stops at Catoshi and the start of 2022 has seen 1 new chain added to our capability each month;
- January | Avalanche (AVAX)
- February | Polygon (MATIC)
- March | Cronos (CRO)
So the question is what will be next? Will there be another chain in April or will the development time be fully directed to on-boarding projects at an even high rate than now? What we do know is that Catoshi never stops building, never stops working. It offers a battle tested cross-chain bridge for 6 different chains and increased public awareness and value is merely a matter of when not if.
