Matt Kemp Brawl

On Wednesday night, the Dodgers faced off against the Rangers and emerged victories. Tempers flared in the middle of this game when Matt Kemp came steaming into home plate and found himself face to face with Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos. Kemp was faced with a choice: either avoid the tag, or run through the tag. He chose the latter, and ignited a brawl in the middle of Dodger Stadium. You gotta love brawls, so here’s the video.

Sano Sent Down

Former All-Star and home run derby participant Miguel Sano was sent down to Single A yesterday by the Twins after his terrible start to the year. This isn't much of a surprise because he has just been so fucking bad. There isn’t much t to say besides the fact that Sano is batting .200 and that he is fat and can’t run. The Twins free’d up a roster spot for Mauer who is set to come off the DL soon, which makes sense because Sano is just so bad it’s embarrassing for the entire organization.

Orioles Are Worthless

Chris Davis has batted 207 times this season. He has only hit the ball 31 times. Chris Davis has been on base 50 times this season. He has scored 10. The Baltimore Orioles are paying him 17 million this year. This is just a glimpse into the life of an Orioles fan. From what I imagine, it is probably like waking up every morning with a feeling of ultimate despair and never being able to leave that state of despair because the Orioles have yet to cross the 20 win mark. Winning a game is like Christmas morning for an O’s fan, with each time it comes around you believe less and less in the actual truth behind it. RIP Orioles.

Velasquez flirts with history

Super talented right hander Vince Velasquez took the bump for the fighting Phills against the Rockies, and boy was he spectacular. Velasquez (5–7) picked up a much needed win for the Phillies and he did so in convincing fashion. He took a no hitter into the seventh innings while only allowing 3 base runners total through 6.2 innings. The young pitcher has shown flashes of dominance throughout his career, but has never quite put it together, this could be a start his breakout. He lowered his ERA to 4.74, which is uninspiring to say the least, but it is nice to see Velasquez bounce back after a few rough outing in a row. Velasquez could become a key contributor for the Phillies if they plan to contend this season. It will begin with more outings like the dominant one today.

Fantasy News

David Peralta

David Peralta has been on an absolute power surge lately. Now with 13 home runs and over 150 points on the year, the Diamondbacks have relied on Peralta to be one of their main sources of production. Owned in just 66% of leagues, if you’re in ⅓ of the leagues where he’s not owned, he must be picked up immediately. With the humidor seeming to be less effective as of late, Peralta is a very intriguing piece as of right now.

Miggy Is Done

Miguel Cabrera has been one of the most consistent player in all of fantasy baseball for the last 10 years. Before his season last year, he spent EIGHT years above .300. That is an incredible feat, but if you drafted him this year after his bad showing last year you have some balls. Miggy is getting old (35) and it’s showing. News broke on Wednesday that Miggy ruptured a tendon in his left biceps and is expected to miss the remainder of the season. If you drafted him, obviously drop him because he’s done.
