Baby Bombers Unload On Texas

If you still had doubt about the Yankees being a good team, it’s time to admit you were wrong. This young group of guys have been destroying baseballs, hitting 14 homeruns in their last 3 games, 8 of which came in last nights game. Gleyber went for two, and Judge launched a homer as well. When someone calls the Yankees the “Baby Bombers”, they mean it. Gleyber Torres was 3 months old when the pitcher for Texas made his MLB debut (Bartolo). The Yankees ended up winning the game 10–5, cementing themselves among the best hitting lineups in the league.

Brother-In-Laws Face Off In Houston

The Houston Astros pitcher Gerrit Cole and SF Giants Shortstop Brandon Crawford have more in common that just their long hair and beards. They are actually related. Cole is married to Crawford’s sister, Amy, a former softball player whom he met on his first day of college at UCLA and started dating about a year later. Now the only question is, who does she root for? If I had to guess, she probably loves when her husband strikes out her brother, it definitely gives them a lot to talk about at Christmas.

Didi Is Living In A Nightmare

Oh thank goodness didi Gregorius hit a double in his 4th at bat last night. It was getting really, really hard to watch. Didi has seen his batting average that once resides in the stratosphere sink fast down to earth, hitting .248 coming into last night and just 2 for his last 50. You read that right, 2 for 50. Although a historically bad stretch, Didi hasn’t suffered any damage to his hard hit rate yet, so it may just be a very unlucky slump. Still, monitor this guy, because he’s gone from a top 5 shortstop to not that very, very quickly. The talent for that is still there, but the average does not show it.

Fantasy News

Alex Reyes

My goodness. Everyone should definitely envy cardinals fans. They have a guy in Jack Flaherty who just struck out 13, and Mike Mikolas who just went the distance last night in route to a perfect 6–0 record. Those guys are most likely taken (if you haven’t been listening to us about Jack Flaherty and he’s still on waivers in your league, you deserve to lose) but the younger coming off Tommy John, Alex Reyes is absolutely tearing up his minor league rehab assignment. Reyes stuck out 13 and gave up just one hit in 7.2 innings of scoreless ball rehabbing for AA Northwest Arkansas. This is just one start after striking out 12 in 7 innings for single A. Owned in 33% of leagues, (up 21% this week) this guy could completely change your fantasy season. He’s also due back May 28th, so pick him up this week before everyone else sees what he can do. You will thank us later for this one.

Juan Soto — Update

Well, we hate to say we told you so (we actually love it). Juan Soto batted 6th for the Washington Nationals and did not disappoint. First at bat, he launched a 3-run homerun to left field. There isn’t much to say besides do not miss out on this kid.
