Due to the spread of Coronavirus, the world economy has taken a major hit and this has impacted non-profit organizations heavily. But we can still control the situation by finding ways to overcome our organizational challenges!!

1. Move forward with the campaigns on the verge of launching

If you have some campaigns lined up to launch, try to forge ahead. Your donors know how important your organization is and how acute the need is.

Give your donors the chance to take action and to feel proud and GREAT. Don’t take that opportunity away from them!! Online fundraising makes it even easier as they get to do good by donating from their home.

2. Cancel upcoming in-person social events but give attendees a chance to contribute

You should definitely cancel any social events where public gatherings are involved as the best way to deal with this pandemic is social distancing. However, don’t go up front and refund the charges for the tickets immediately.

Your donors are also aware of the present condition. So offer them a chance to contribute by converting the ticket costs to donations towards the organization.

3. Compassion and empathy are the keys

We can’t deny the fact that this pandemic has affected everyone everywhere. MANY people have been hit hard by job loss or furlough and by the economic forecast. So, this is the time to connect with people, empathize, and express compassion in your conversations.

The bonds that you create now will last for the long run.

4. Thank your donors

This is an overwhelming situation for everyone, including your donors. Try your best to go the extra mile and send them greetings, personalized videos, etc. showing your thankfulness and that you are praying for their good health. Let them know how much you appreciate their generosity.

5. Be at peace, this too shall pass

Nothing is permanent in this world, and that goes for the current situation as well. Things will change and together we will defeat this pandemic. Shortly after that, everything will fall back into place.

Are you a nonprofit affected by COVID-19? We want to help you.
