Causr Meets Reddit
If you don’t know much about reddit then you are DEFINITELY missing out.
I think it’s fair to say that most millennials have at least heard of reddit, even if they’re not an active user. For those of you who don’t know too much about it, I’d summarise it as somewhere where people from all over the world can divulge their opinions & experience with complete anonymity. The advantage of this is that you can be as open & honest as you want without worrying about what people think.
Here at Causr we thought it would be a great idea to see what experiences people have had through serendipity. So we asked, how chance meetings have benefited your professional or personal life?
The overall response was positive and provoked a lot of interest.
One reddit user described how after being laid off from their last job, he/she went to lunch the next day at a Benihana. The user happened to sit next to two older gentlemen. They all got on well & found out they worked in the same industry. The user impressed them so much that they were offered the job on the spot at their start up. The story ends with them selling the company last year stating “I now work because I want to, not because I have to.”
The question resonated with another user from a different perspective whereby they simply added the wrong person on Facebook thinking they were someone else and are now best friends.
Serendipity can show itself in many forms, whether we experience success when finding a new business partner, or finding friendship by accident these moments can make a drastic change to your life.
