Building a technology startup is hard. There are so many variables the right product, timing, investment, branding, marketing, voice, colours, UX, UI, language, tone. I’m a huge fan of the Lean StartUp — what that means for us is we initially made a WebApp for Causr enabling people to login through any browser see who’s nearby, connect and communicated through email. With over 1000 test users earlier last year, looking at the data over 80% were iOS users so it was with the information we decided to build out the iOS version that has had a number of iterations and improvements that can be seen here.

There have been a number of learnings since we’ve launched and it’s exciting to say and see the Android version in production which we look forward to launching later this year.

With the foundations built on iOS we are taking learnings and improving for the Android version — once launched we’ll continue to iterate and build out the iOS version and likely to continue to iterate side by side once we’ve built out the core functionality and have additional resources with our next round of investment.

If you’ve any comments of building iOS or Android first and best case practices feel free to share.

Causr is a location-based app that introduces its users to others within the local area. It makes finding nearby professionals with similar jobs, interests and ambitions easy. Scroll through a network of users, see who’s free, meet for coffee, share business advice or simply connect. Causr plans those chances encounters, and makes missed opportunities a thing of the past.

Download the App to see who’s nearby and start connecting today. Now available on the Apple App Store. Pre-register for our Android release here.
