Cavalry 1.1 is packed with features that will help shorten your day, checkout this YouTube video for the details on 10 of the big ones, and see below for information on 10 other ways to super-charge your Cavalry sessions.

1. Infinite Scrubbing

When clicking and dragging a value you can now scrub beyond the bounds of your monitor.

2. Quickly Add Keyframes in the Graph Editor

Double Click to quickly insert a keyframe.

Double clicking on an animation curve will insert a keyframe on the frame closest to where you clicked. The shape of the animation curve will be maintained when you do this.

3. Snapping Shortcut

The Cavalry View Menu on macOS showing the new Snapping Shortcut.

Control U on Windows and Command U on macOS will now toggle Snapping. This works even when you’re in the middle of drawing something, which can be super handy.

4. Composition Preferences

The new Composition Preferences in Cavalry.

There are now preferences for default resolution, frame rate, frame range, background colour, and gamma.

5. Render Notifications

A notification showing a render has been completed.

You can receive a render notification when a render completes, or when a Render Queue Item finished rendering. You can set Notifications up in the Preferences window. Remember that on macOS notifications will only show if the application is in the background.

6. Truncate Layers

You can now truncate a selection of layers with a keyboard shortcut.

Alt [ or Alt ] can now be used to truncate a selection of layers in the Time Editor.

Quick tip: To marquee select layers in the Time Editor, hold alt while dragging the mouse.

7. Drag Replace Compositions

Drag replace Compositions.

To replace a Composition, hold the Alt key and drag a Composition from the Asset window onto a Composition in the Scene window.

8. Set Composition to Playback Range

Setting the composition range to the playback range can now be done via a shortcut.

The Compsition menu now has two new options, Set Composition to Playback Range and Set Playback Range to Composition. These have the shortcuts Alt R and Alt S respectively.

9. Viewport Pan on a Trackpad

Holding the Command key on macOS or the Control key on Windows and then using the scroll gesture on a trackpad will result in the viewport being panned.

10. Quickly Remove Guides or Numerically Modify them.

Double clicking on a guide will show a popover in which you can edit the pixel location of the guide.

Command Click on macOS, or Control Click on Windows to remove a guide.
