👋 We’ve been working hard on new features and improvements since the release of Cavalry 1.1. Thanks to everyone who has been joining in with the conversations over on Discord — all your feedback and suggestions have a big influence on Cavalry’s ongoing development.

Here’s a little flavour of what’s cooking for the upcoming Cavalry 1.2 release.

Forge Dynamics

Cavarly 1.2 (beta 1) introduced our new Forge Dynamics system and we’ve since added more Collision Events like Visibility and Colour among lots of other improvements and enhancements.

Collision Events can be used to change colours when shapes collide.

Up next for Text

The improvements to text in Cavalry 1.1 included a preview of Style Behaviours — a way of procedurally styling text. We’re taking those ideas further with new workflows to automatically edit font size, character spacing (yes — procedural kerning pairs!) and even colours.

Procedurally setting the word ‘animation’ to green.

Drawing tools

We’re introducing several new features to the drawing tools including Bezier Manipulation and a new Stabilser mode for the Pencil tool to help you draw super smooth curves.

The new stabiliser makes drawing smooth curves a breeze.

Not forgetting a new Formatted Date String Generator, a new Ray Shape, HSV colour, improvements to ProRes export, off screen selection and much more. Full release notes (including the 1.2b1 release) can be found here.

If you have a Professional licence you can give these new features a try today. Installers can be found under the Beta tab when you sign in to your account.
