The headlines this week have been littered with news reports about potentially “dangerous” CBD candies making their way into your children’s trick or treat baskets. One local news station in North Carolina posted a rather humorous segment about CBD candy “that could get kids high.”

Granted, there could be trace amounts of THC in these CBD gummies. The question remains: why would anyone offer them to kids? At $30 a pack, it’s not exactly the most cost efficient trick-or-treat snack to give out to children.

The candies in question are also only offered at vape shops, and clearly labeled as “CBD Hemp Oil.” The reports are further misleading viewers into thinking the gummies are Halloween themed because they happen to have orange-colored packaging.

States that have legalized recreational marijuana have more to worry about considering the fact that their edibles actually contain enough THC to get people high.

Check out these other segments from North Carolina and Texas for an additional dose of CBD fear mongering. The story was also picked up by the New York Daily News.
