New intersection on South Cole is opening, making way for a new community, Locale, Boise, ID
New community to be built in Boise, bringing a fresh, local vibe to South Cole.
Boise, Idaho — July 25, 2018 — The long-awaited reopening of the Cole Road and Lake Hazel Intersection is scheduled for July 2018 making way for easy access to Boise’s newest master planned community, Locale.
Construction began on the intersection in early Oct. 2017, that included building a bridge over the New York Canal to connect Lake Hazel to Orchard Street along with a new signal at Cole and Lake Hazel.
ACHD completed the project ahead of schedule. This new connection to Orchard Street allows better access for residents to the Boise Airport and a new route to I-84 alleviating some of the traffic along South Cole. The intersection features bike lanes and 7-foot attached sidewalks.
The intersection makes way for what will be Locale, a new master planned community in Boise, also known as the Syringa Valley development. The community will span from Cole toward Orchard with over 2,000 family homes, estate homesites, townhomes and more.
Locale will bring a new and fresh vibe to the South Cole area promoting local living and featuring amenities encouraging residents to have fun, go outside and enjoy what this location has to offer. The mixed-use development will have pools, walking and biking trails among additional outdoor activities.
