How effective is AR in the recruitment space?

Many organizations are choosing to use Augmented Reality now, even recruiters. Ever wondered why?

Following up from last week’s VR segment, Augmented Reality or AR supplements real world images and information while VR simulates the environment for the viewers. Unlike VR that creates an artificial environment, AR uses the existing environment and overlays information on top of this.

AR does have the same functions in the recruiting space as VR. As a recruiter or a hirer, you can fast track the application process, you can provide a day’s experience at your organization and you can conduct virtual tours of your workplace. AR can be used at career fairs and video interviews as well. AR provides auditory and visual effects to real life problems. For instance, a mechanic performing a real life vehicle repair with the help of his data goggles or a recruiter reminiscing through an on boarding process.

I’ve mentioned a few examples of companies that have implemented VR technologies lately in the previous feature to stress on the fact that VR and AR are changing the way the world hires. A lot of implementation strategies and effective funding has been invested in this venture, but the question still lies within us?

Will AR wipe out the traditional ways of recruiting and on boarding processes?
