  1. A pleasure to eat all the way through, i.e. doesn’t lure you in with mere sweetness, whose effect eventually wears out, but rather, has subtleties and nuances that one discovers slowly with each bite.
  2. Not too much that it becomes tiring and you feel a bit sick afterward, but not too little to leave you wanting more. One could be technical and calculate this exact amount or number of bites, maybe.
  3. Richness that allows you to linger on every bite, as if the goodness of all the cakes you have ever eaten are packed into that one bite, and more. The closest thing to the cake in your dreams.
  4. Utterly unforgettable. I read something about how every piece of music or art has the ability to introduce us to feelings we have never felt before. A piece of cake might not be everyone’s idea of fresh perspective, but maybe there are just not enough good cakes in the world.
