Themes: Rags to Riches, Discovered treasure (can the love interest be considered “treasure?”)

Color Scheme: purple, blue, yellow, brown

Book #1: Aladdin

• Spine: Aladdin — (lamp icon) — Ron Clements and Jon Musker
• Back: Imagine if you had three wishes, three hopes, three dreams and they could all come true
• Design: deep purple background with two individuals dancing on front (Aladdin and Jasmine)… yellow will be reflected in the sand dunes and presence of magic carpet/lamp… Aladdin and Jasmine can dance on the magic carpet as it floats over sand with the Palace in the background

Book #2: The Great Gatsby

• Spine: The Great Gatsby — (Gatsby logo) — F. Scott Fitzgerald
• Back: Can’t repeat the past? …of course you can!
• Design: deep purple background with two individuals dancing on front (Gatsby and Daisy)… yellow will be reflected in Daisy’s attire/the brilliant glow of Gatsby’s mansion… Gatsby will dance with Daisy but his fingertips will barely be touching hers, representing his inability to hang on to her

Book #3: Beauty and the Beast

• Spine: Beauty and the Beast — (rose) — Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise
• Back: The most beautiful love story ever told
• Design: deep purple background with two individuals dancing on front (Belle and Beast)… yellow will be reflected in moon/chandelier and Belle’s dress… Beast and Belle will be dancing ballroom style, with Beast in a blue and yellow tailored suit… dancing on a balcony with the castle outlined in the background
