Exercise 1 — Tracing

Exercise 2

Kannada MN

Rebellion occurs when a group of people have enmity towards an authoritative figure. Usually, these groups of people don’t show themselves until they take action. I liked how this typeface makes the lowercase letters with curvature (such as e and o) look like the tips of a scythe. It suits the word because even though on the surface level rebels may be round and seem harmless, but they have the means to bring the authority down.

Luminari

I chose this typeface because the tips of the letters look like a snake’s tongue, and rebellion is at time caused by sneaky people who don’t seem like they are harmful.

Braggadocio

I liked the boldness of this type and thought that for someone to cause a rebellion, they need this type of boldness.

Helevetica

Helvetica is the basic font for a lot of programs because of its basic form. Purity holds the literal definition of “freedom from adulteration or contamination”. I chose Helvetica because the definition of purity means something in its most basic form.

Lucida Calligraphy Italic

Purity is often ecclesiastical, and I like how this type seems celestial.

Geneva

clean and clear, no edges

Didot — history

The Didot typeface was founded by Firmin Didot in 1784. It is classified as a neoclassical typeface. The typeface was inspired by a famous designer of the time — Giambattista Bodoni. Because the Didot family was the first to offer a printing press in Greece, the Didot typeface is still popular and commonly used there. The most unique feature about this typeface is the contrast between the bold and delicate strokes. Such contrast makes this typeface a very elegant and classy style.
