For this project we are to select themes in order to effectively design for 3 book covers.

For my themes, I decided to work on the books by author Roald Dahl; more specifically, his books Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, as well as the Big Friendly Giant.

Each book contains the similar themes of having a young extraordinary child as the protagonist who endures an exciting journey with many intriguing experiences.

With this in mind, some content for the book covers would include:

On the front cover;

The titles, the illustration of the characters, and the author name

On the spine;

The title again and perhaps a continuation of the the illustration on the front cover

And on the back cover;

a short written summary, a continuation of the front cover illustration, or perhaps the written acknowledgements of quotes used by the author himself.

Illustration by Quentin Blake of the original covers are shown below in order to have a better idea of what the stories are about.
