Efficient vs. Inefficient Toilet Paper Holders
When an individual is using the restroom, he or she wants the most easy and hassle-free experience possible, which is why every component of the bathroom should be simple and straightforward. The toilet paper holder, specifically, is intended to keep the toilet paper located conveniently and accessibly at all times, to people of all sizes and ages. In other words, the design should be simple enough that small children or elderly people would understand without any complications. When we consider the toilet paper holder, there are two designs that are quite common, but one is very obviously more effective than the other. First, we have the spring toilet paper holder, as displayed below. Though the design is sleek and simplistic, the mechanism isn’t because it isn’t as convenient as it can be. Though when the toilet paper is loaded, it will not roll off, replacing the toilet paper when the roll is finished is a hassle. The spring is difficult to work with and the process takes a lot longer than necessary.
This second design is also very sleek and simplistic, but requires a lot less time and effort to replace and simultaneously keeps the toilet paper in place as well. There is a metal rod that keeps the toilet paper in place, and the design allows the user to slide a new roll of toilet paper in within seconds. The goal of high ease and convenience is fully achieved by the addition and modification of the elements in the previous example. As a result, this very effective design adds to the overall hassle-free experience of using a restroom.
