CDx 2019 Roadmap
Project History and Goals
After publicly launching CDx earlier this month, we wanted to give you an overview of our progress to date and outline our goals moving forward. We’ve published our 2019 roadmap on our website and would love to hear your thoughts on Reddit, Twitter, or Telegram!
CDx came to life as the three co-founders were actively trading crypto assets. We wanted to keep our assets on exchanges to trade, but were worried about losing our capital if an exchange was hacked or shut down. Talking to other investors, funds, and traders confirmed that a market for insuring against exchange hacks was necessary for the asset class to evolve.
Giving institutional investors the ability to price and transfer credit risk is an essential part of onboarding them to the crypto ecosystem.
Over the course of 2018, we have conducted extensive technical and market research, developed a detailed framework for our protocol and token, and are leading the way in solving one of the most important problems in crypto.
Solidity development is well underway and we intend to open-source our base smart contract library within the next few months. Development of the first relayer built on CDx has been ongoing for three months now and we can’t wait to share more details with our community soon!
On the business side we have been building the infrastructure that will allow CDx to continue to grow over the next year. Essential operations like fundraising, hiring new team members, finding value-add advisors, and hiring auditors/lawyers keep CDx running smoothly behind the scenes.
There is still plenty of work to do to prepare for our mainnet launch in Q4 2019.
We have expanded our business team with external hires (hi, that’s me!) and shifted our focus to preparing for future growth. Our goal is to establish and grow a community that believes in the same values as CDx (more on that soon). By producing engaging, informative content, we want to educate everyone about credit risk and how we aim to make the crypto ecosystem safer.
Since the safety and security of our protocol is paramount to its success, we plan to rigorously test it with two independent security audits before implementing the complete smart contract library.
We will release developer tools and detailed documentation, along with support from our development team, so that other projects can build relayers for additional swap markets.
Finally, user-friendly tools like a swap pricing model, credit monitor, and swap trackers will support users in understanding and trading CDx swaps.
Investors will be able to trade CDx swaps on Ethereum mainnet before the end of 2019
