Many have grown tired of the unproductive discourse taking place on social media, whether it’s people talking past each other or the constant personal attacks.

We believe this behavior is heavily influenced by system design — specifically, a failure to consider (or care about) the second-order effects of optimizing for ‘engagement’.

Ceasefire, on the other hand, fosters productive dialogues that span diverse views and topics. It’s the embodiment of ‘quality over quantity’, with every product decision made accordingly.

Following the launch of our website last year (recently rebranded to ceasefire.net), we’re delighted to be launching our app today, now available in the App Store and Google Play Store.

iOS (dark mode) and Android (light mode)

Some feature highlights include:

  • ‘Shine’ votes, which rank comments without obnoxious point scores or notifications.
  • Principled guidelines, including a ban on hostility toward other users.
  • Topic tags (curated by you), focusing discussion on the issues instead of individual popularity.

We could go on about the nuts and bolts, but the experience is much more than the sum of its parts. There’s a culture of understanding and curiosity on Ceasefire that is only possible by setting the right foundations on day 1.

Whether you want to share insight or simply read enlightening conversations, we hope you give it a try!
