Organizing your path to success

The Career Resource Center is a useful tool for all students at Cecil. Many students believe it only benefits those who are currently searching for employment, but in reality, the center offers other resources. In addition to providing information about job openings, it also has resources available regarding the type of schooling or programs required to get into various fields of work.

Visiting the career center helped me better organize my path to success. I was skeptical at first. I didn’t think I needed to be there. I already knew what I wanted to do in the future. After speaking with the advisor, I realized I was not as sure as I thought I was. I filled out a survey based on my interests and decided that a different career appealed more to me.

This realization didn’t completely change my goals for college, but it helped me determine where to focus my attention. I am more confident in my college experience now that I have a clearer idea of what I am working toward. Even if you have decided on a future job, it is always a good idea to meet with someone at the career center. It may give you an understanding of how to best reach your goals.

I recommend going to the career center at least once while you are a student at Cecil. Even if you are sure of what you would like to do in the future, you may still leave with good advice or new information. To learn more, visit the Career Resource Center across from the North East campus.
