Personal log #2
At the beginning of the semester, I was really worried about taking my economics course here at Cecil. However, to my surprise, I completely enjoyed and even loved the class. I never thought learning about supply and demand would be something I was not only good at, but also loved. I would almost say that it was my favorite class this semester, if it weren’t for the Technical Writing course I took alongside it.
After taking Technical Writing, I realized that it was something I was skilled at and enjoyed deeply. Taking information from different sources, constructing resumes, formatting instructions, and compiling research to write a proposal are now things I love to do. I have all my friends give me their resumes to reconstruct because of how much I enjoy to technical write.
Now, these two different courses can each lead to a successful career. However, I enjoy both equally. This is why I have decided to change majors. Instead of just being an English major, I will continue my education pursuing an English with a concentration in legal studies degree at Goldey-Beacom College after graduating from Cecil. This new degree allows me to not only pursue my newfound love for economics, but also continue my pursuit of an English degree. In the end, I am extremely happy I took courses that made me concerned because the little bit of worry paid off in the long run.
