Quick grammar tips to improve your writing

As an English major, I feel like one of the best ways I can help my fellow students is by giving them tips on how to improve their writing. I have pulled together three of the most common mistakes any writer makes and condensed them into one blog. I hope you like them and that they help you the next time you go to write a paper.

• Try to avoid commonly misused words.

• Less is always better. Make your writing concise and to the point to help readers avoid confusion.

• Commas! Everyone has trouble with commas. They are just too easy to forget, miss, and misuse, and you always get points taken off for them.
