Although it might be a bit late to wish you a Happy New Year, it is the perfect time to wish you a Happy New Semester. Whether you spent your break reconnecting with family, hanging out with friends, traveling, resting, catching up with all the chores you have been putting off, or some combination thereof, we hope you had a chance to recharge your batteries and are eager to return to Cecil.

While we must admit we enjoyed some down time as well, we are more than ready to welcome you back as it has just been too quiet around here. We have noticed a steady stream of students registering for classes and hope you are all signed up.

The beginning of a semester often brings change, and we are excited to introduce a new initiative. For the past three years, we have been employing students to serve as social media assistants who primarily post on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. Anytime you see a post ending with a set of initials and #cecilcollegelife, you know it came from one our awesome social media assistants. Hopefully you are already following us on each of these platforms.

Fueled by the success of these insights and observations, we are adding another facet to our communication efforts with the introduction of the Cecil College blog. Following a well-received application process, we have selected Stephanie Beal, Heather Hughes and Cody Gunter to be our first student bloggers. Stephanie and Heather are both proving it is never too late to go to college and pursue your dreams. Representing the Millennials is Cody, a passionate club leader and one of the driving forces behind our annual Cecil-Con event. We will let them tell you more about themselves, but can assure you they each have some great stories and lessons to share.

At the very least, we hope you take the time to read our blog posts and get something out of our work. Better yet, we invite you to participate and share your feedback and thoughts. If you do not have a Medium account, it is real easy to get one. You can sign in through Twitter, Facebook, Google or your email address.

We realize we are going to learn as we go along and are sure we will be making some tweaks and adjustments along the way. Please let us know what you think and how we can best relate to Cecil students.

Have a great semester!
