Building a Job Board Where the Jobs Find the Applicants

Today I’m launching the first version of a feature I’m super excited about. Ceev.io now has a job board!

You can check it out at ceev.io/jobs/browse.

Right now it’s fairly bare and basic, but in the coming days and weeks I will be working to bring in more job posts and add more features for users looking for a job.

Launch note: If you’re looking to hire someone, it’s free to post a job on Ceev for a little bit while I’m getting things going. Then the initial price will be $50 for 90 days.

So why am I so excited?

Since launch, the main focus of Ceev has been really one thing… resumes. You can build as many awesome-looking resumes as you want, but you still might not have anywhere to send it.

Looking for jobs is slow and boring, and it takes a lot of searching to find something you would really love.

I think that could change with jobs on Ceev. When you build a resume or profile on Ceev, you include all the information you are proud of and the work you love doing. Using that information contained in your profile or resumes, Ceev will be able to determine what kind of job you want, and will show you recommendations. No more scrolling through job boards for hours.

Also, because users likely will already have a resume on Ceev, you’ll be able to apply to your job with one click. The company will get your resume, or the raw data if they choose — that’s the benefit of doing everything on one platform.

Keep in mind that it’s a plan right now — not how it works yet. Right now it’s just a simple job board that you will be able to scroll through and view jobs, but in the future the jobs will find you.

Why should companies post on Ceev?

Good question. There are tons of job boards out there, but Ceev offers some benefits many don’t.

  • Each post gets a simple & unique URL that can be shared anywhere — social media, emails, etc. Posts are public and do not require accounts/signing in to view. I have an example post you can see at ceev.io/jobs/browse/ceev-lead-application-developer.
  • When viewing a job, the focus will stay on the job that the user is viewing. The post will not be full of ads or recommendations for different jobs.
  • The job post page has a simple, mobile-friendly design.
  • Quality jobs only. Each job post will be reviewed to make sure it meets some basic standards: no spam/scams, no multi-level-marketing or pyramid schemes, and no unpaid jobs or internships. Your job post won’t be surrounded by low-quality posts.
  • Upcoming features including automatic recommendations to qualified users, one-click apply from users, different options to receive applicant data (actual resume, raw data, etc), and much more.

And here are a few other things you may want to know about the job board:

  • Job posts can be full-time, part-time, seasonal, gigs/freelance, etc.
  • Anyone can post a job, and they can be edited or disabled at any time.
  • The job editor is includes rich-text editing, so you can make your job post look exactly how you want.
  • The data you have on Ceev is not and will never be shared with or sold to any companies without your permission. Your data is completely private right now. In the future, there will be features that allow you to share your resumes or data with companies directly, but that will only happen after you confirm for each company/job.

If you have any comments or suggestions for the new Ceev Job Board, leave a response or chat me on Ceev.io :)
