Helen is the CEO and Co-Founder of CareAcademy, and a former caregiver and Teach for America Corps Member. She’s passionate about caregiving and the impact that the right caregiver can have on families. As an educator and workplace trainer, she has had a career in driving outcomes for adult learners and finding meaningful ways for them to engage in learning. She holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in Political Science and Arabic Studies, and an EdM. from Harvard University.

What’s a challenge you’ve faced, and how did you get through it?

After pivoting CareAcademy, we faced a lot of uncertainty and had a little cash in the bank. After a short strategy meeting, we decided that we’d pre-sell our CareAcademy classes and created a way to work with our customers to build our first eldercare classes.

What’s something you’ve done that you’re really proud of?

I am excited that we’ve been able to build a great team to not only educate caregivers but create a way for caregivers to access a career path.

What’s something that’s been on your mind this Black History Month?

I think about the ways that we create wealth and greater opportunity within our communities, and how do I use find ways to help others build their dreams.
