Look It’s A Car!

Summer is an amazing time of year, trips to the lake, enjoying the outdoors with friends and family. It’s also the time of year many people decide to upgrade their cars.

1. Get Together Your Car’s Information

Take some time to get all the information about your car in one place. Just think about all the things you would want to know if you were looking at a used car. Give people enough to get them interested, some more confident sellers keep some information back so that prospective buyers have to contact them to find out more.

2. Know What Shape Your Car’s In

Sometimes it is hard for a seller to come to grips with the actual value of their car. This is one of the main reasons that some people have a hard time selling their car. Check out a couple of sources and be ready to take a little bit less. All those awesome road trips you had in your car mean a little less to the next guy. Alright, it depends on how epic it was.

Sometimes you have the car on the left. Sometimes you have the car on the right.

3. Decide On Trade-in or For Sale By Owner

Both options have merit. More often than not you can get more for your car when you sell it yourself. But that entails the hassle of dealing with everything by your lonesome. Many people opt to just trade in and not deal with the hassle.

4: Optimize Your Car’s Value.

Small improvements can make a big difference in how much you can get out of your old car. Just a simple car wash and thorough detailing can make your ride look brand new! Clean cars always get picked first. No one wants to get picked last, too many bad memories, I never could climb that gym rope very well…

5. Decide On How Much To Ask For Your Car

Do your homework and be realistic. Also, make sure to remember that you are going to have to negotiate down. But be prepared to support your pricing decision. If you aren’t willing to budge a little, it can end up taking longer to sell your car. Nobody wants that.

6. Create an Ad That Sells

This makes all the difference. All too often people just put a dumb sticker in their window and then throw up an uninspired classified ad and then wonder why they can’t sell their car. The first thing you need to do is get some great pictures, then be ready to make a compelling case for ownership which should be easy, you bought the dang thing in the first place. Once you’ve done that, it’s time to upgrade that boring old For Sale sign to a CellARide listing. Try it for FREE HERE.

7. Check Out Potential Buyers

Use binoculars if you have to?

Nobody wants to meet some creep behind an old Wendy’s. Do a little homework if people are interested. You can find out a lot about a prospective buyer before you even meet them from their social media. Don’t be afraid to ask for a last name if you need to. If someone isn’t willing to give a little bit to make you feel comfortable about meeting for the deal don’t hesitate to wait, you’ll definitely find someone better, at least that’s what my mom keeps telling me.

8. Sell during the test drive

When you’ve got them in the car is the best time to close. People are always excited when they get in a new car they are excited about. Feel free to point out a couple of things that are wrong, small things, it build rapport with the shopper. Maybe now is the time to drop some stories from that epic road trip. Maybe not, your call on that one.

Best of luck. We know you can do it!
