After more than 7 years of operating Celly, we have made the very difficult decision to shut our service down on February 28th of 2018.

We’ve had a wonderful time working with all the amazing leaders who have used Celly to help bring positive change to the world, and are very thankful for all the amazing causes we have been able to work with. Thank you to the countless classroom teachers, students, civil rights activists, community organizers, local businesses, and international peace warriors who have joined us on this journey.

Any paid subscriptions will be terminated by Feb 28th, and will be pro-rated if necessary. Text messaging will continue to work up until Feb 28th and then will cease to operate, as will our website and apps. We will be turning off signups next week. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to support@cel.ly and we will help you with any billing or technical issues.

One item that we want to make clear is that we cannot export phone numbers — this violates our privacy policy and the contract that we owe to every user who has signed up for Celly. We have always valued privacy deeply and will not violate that trust. If you are wanting to migrate your members to another service, please message your cell and share the new information with them that way.

The Celly Team is turning its attention to a completely different project, an iOS app that is built for expressing yourself through photo, video, and dynamic art. Some of you may have heard about it from us before — we briefly released a very early version of this idea in 2015. The app is called Spriteville and we are excited to be able to share it with everyone soon. You can get more information and sign up for our beta here: https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/spriteville

Thank you,

Greg, Russell, and Darek from Celly
