Hello Celo community, we are excited to open up applications for the Celo Community Fund.

The application process is eligible for all individuals and business entities that are contributing to the Celo ecosystem, are aligned with Celo’s mission, comply with KYC/AML policies and Terms and Conditions. We will accept applications for the following four categories: on/off ramps, community tools, education, and research.

The Application Process

Interested applicants should go to www.celocommunityfund.org and click ‘Apply Now’. You will be redirected to a Submittable intake form where you will be asked to create a new account or sign in if you are a returning user. Before submitting your application please make sure that you have clearly articulated your project’s objectives, key results, milestones, and intended use of funds. If needed, you can start the application process, save it, and finish it at a later time.

Pro tip: have a friend or mentor review your application to provide feedback before submitting it. If your application is ambiguous or your intentions are unclear, then we may have to reject it.

Once your application is submitted, we will review it in the order that it was received. We will work hard to decide on applications in a timely fashion but we do ask for your patience because we expect a large intake of applicants.

We will review applications on a rolling basis until we have distributed all the community funds allocated to us.

If an applicant receives a favorable decision on their application, then we will notify them to start the paperwork which includes signing a Grantee Agreement, Terms and Conditions, as well as completing a KYC check.

Community fund recipients should expect us to disclose the following information to the community; amount, project name, website/github, recipient name(s), funding date, funding amount, use of funds. On a quarterly basis we will publish a consolidated memo on the progress of community fund recipients.

Once the paperwork is completed, the applicant becomes a grantee! Funding of the application will take place in accordance with the funding schedule, typically on the last Friday of the month.

We encourage applicants to submit applications with a phased funding schedule based on objectives and key results. Small grant applications are not required to do this.

Closing

We are excited to see all the amazing projects that will be built!
