If money were beautiful, the whole world would be like Prosper Retreat.
During November 1st to 3rd, the Celo team invited around 60 entrepreneurs, investors and scholars to a beautiful place in Northern California called “The Land” to reflect on a question: “What if money were beautiful?”. It was called “The Prosper Retreat”, and it was an awesome experience to me.
The place we were taken into is called “The Land” and it is a mix of 5 star hotel and Camping retreat. It was such an unique opportunity to connect with nature, to put your feet on the ground and exchange energies with mother Earth.
My fellow attendees were also a great part of the experience. Entrepreneurs, investors and scholars from top universities in the world. They were all smart and accomplished individuals from all over the world and from different fields of study. But, perhaps, more importantly, we were all “Givers” who had an immense pleasure in cooperating with each other. This awesome support network was, perhaps, the best thing that spontaneously happened during the Prosper Retreat.
The projects each of us is working on have a lot of synergy. For example, I already saw the opportunity for cooperation between my project, Lovecrypto, with Ripple Works and Consensys for Social Impact. Also, our team would love to become a Celo validator. We are going to call our node “LoveCelo”. Finally, all of us who were working on projects related to Universal Basic Income got together to try to create “The Fellowship of the UBI” and cooperate.
By a total coincidence of destiny, one of my personal heroes, Reese Jones, co-founder of Singularity University was also at “The Land” while we were there.
Answering the initial question of “What if Money were beautiful”: If money were beautiful, the whole world would be like the Prosper Retreat 100% of the time. Calm, Gentle and friendly people cooperating and helping each other to accomplish their life missions.
After such an amazing and insightful experience, by going back to the “Real World”, one can not help but to notice that Money is “Ugly”. Nature being destroyed, Homo Homini Lupus (Men being the predator of men)… It is time for a New Capitalism.
It was re energizing and empowering to connect with such an awesome group of people who were trying not only to make money, but to make money beautiful. Let us be the change we wish to see in the world.
Dear Celo team: count with me to help this network to grow in Brazil and spread the Love of this simple yet powerful question: “What if Money were beautiful?”
