Isaiah Thomas’s sister Tragically passes
The sister of Celtics star point guard, Isaiah Thomas was killed in a car accident on Saturday morning. Chyna Thomas was just 22 years old. This was a one-car accident where the vehicle reportedly drifted to the left side of the freeway and crashed into a large metal pole. Isaiah’s sister did not have her seat belt on.
It obviously would be a tragic time for anyone, losing someone so close to them but for Isaiah it is a different circumstance. This happened the day before he was supposed to lead his Celtics through the Eastern Conference as they worked all year to secure a (53–29) record and first place in the conference heading into the postseason. They are hosting the Indiana pacers in the first round.
It will definitely be a hard task for the 2-time all star to forget about his sister and just play but maybe just maybe Isaiah will dedicate this postseason run to her. Many have been speculating as to whether or not he will be able to produce given the circumstance but I am on the complete other side of the spectrum as I feel this will propel him to do it for Chyna.
Regardless of what happens, we will all pray for the Thomas family and everyone will be on high watch come Sunday as Game 1 of the 7-game series takes place in the Garden.
